Post by 34017 Ilfracombe on Sat Jun 27, 2009 6:52 am

Very much looking forward to my day out with my Wife, cruising round the Isle Of Wight tomorrow on the M.V. Balmoral. For those whom havent been on them I thoroughly recomend a trip on them.

A very enjoyable day. Its the first time that we have been completely round the Island, and the weather was perfect for us. Although it was a long day. We departed Portsmouth Harbour at 12.15 pm, stopped at Cowes to drop passengers off, and pick up, and eventually arrived back in Portsmouth at 19.40 pm.

Don, if you read this thread. Then you will moving to an area with plenty of action in the Summer months. If you enjoy the sea; then the Paddle Steamer Waverley, is doing the same trip on September 5th. Smile

There is an article recently stating that funds are needed to keep these beautiful steamers going. Otherwise one fears this could be the last year.

On a brighter note, Kingswear Castle is moving back to Devon for overhaul and use on the river Dart.
