34037 Clovelly

Post by 34017 Ilfracombe on Mon Jun 29, 2009 11:58 pm

Another West Country Class 34037 Clovelly that I have fond memories of. I had her twice on the 0330 Wloo - Portsmouth Paper train, both on a Sunday, both diverted via the Mid Sussex. Same Driver John Pilcher, and once with our Conductor over the route Joe Brown, whom years later lived down the bottom of the road from us in Kent. He was a Passed Fireman at the time.

But this loco was a good steamer, and plenty of power left in her

What are your memories of 34037?
