I am sure that you all share with me, in wishing Dave Deadman a speedy recovery. He is currently suffering with Ligament damage, difficulty in walking and currently off track! Dave again sadly will miss this years Nine Elms reunion on August 12 th.

Dave has been as well as a colleague at Nine Elms, a long term friend.

Thanks to Tony Leaver for passing on this imformation. Sad

I've heard that Dave is going to the Victoria reunion and looks to be going to the Nine Elms Reunion at the Bluebell this year.

Hi all.
First may I say a big thank you for all the good wishes people have left for me on the Nine Elms website. I was most surprised, but thank you! The knee will never be the same again, but I can manage.
Well, at long last I made my first ever Nine Elms reunion on 10th August 2011. I wish I had attended before as I had a fantastic time and will be there next year without fail! I have to admit that up to nowI have not visited the website too often but my reunion with all old friends on the South Western Division (that sounds better than South West Trains) has changed that. It was so nice to see Tim Crowley again after 40 years and three of my ole Drivers, Brian (BAG) West, Ron Bennett and Alan Pearce. Plus loads more and not forgetting Tony Leaver.
After my knee injury in December 2008, I was sent to the scrap heap on the 4th December 2009, just like my last steam locomotive I fired to, 35007 Aberdeen Commonwealth on the 8th July 1967. I did 46 and a half years service on the railway. 38 years were spent driving on the South Eastern Division at Addiscombe, Charing Cross and finally as a Driver Instructor at Victoria Eastern in 1999. I had such happy times and could not get to grips with retirement. I still yearn for the confines of a driving cab as I so miss railway life. Who knows, I may work on the Bluebell yet!
