Rebuilt WC's/BoB's

Post by 35005CP on Mon Aug 10, 2009 11:08 pm

Hi all,

Can someone tell me if Rebuilt WC's & BoB's fitted with only 1 Damper? And also when a Bulleid was converted if they had some kind of safety device fitted for when they are blown down?

Thanks in advance

Andy

2 Dampers, were fitted on Un-Converteds, and Converteds upon rebuilts.

Blowdown valves had no safety measures during BR days..About the longest for blowing a loco down for was approx 2 minutes?

I thought that was the case as I know that 34016 Bodmin has 2 Dampers and we only blew her down for approx 2 minutes until the water had gone down to about a quarter in the glass!!

Apparently 34059 Sir Archibald Sinclair has always been fitted with 1 though!??

But from what I have heard Eddystone only had 1 damper as well?
