34053 and SLL having fun and games! Looking beautiful leaves her home for the SVR..... https://picasaweb.google.com/116839141471298057728/Restoration2012#5739822437575623234
I would certianly have loved to have seen her on the Swanage Railway. Look after her boys and girls at the SVR. I have followed her overhaul as have many others for a few years now and I have to say that SLL have done a fantastic job!! Scroll through the photos.
I hope NickT posts some for the forum to keep.
Thanks all
Andy

I passed Sir Keith this morning on the A34 and he looked superb. All credit to SLL and those involved in the restoration.

A few pics of 34053 on her journey; on the lowloader and going forwards being unloaded at Bridgnorth; photos here; https://picasaweb.google.com/116839141471298057728/Restoration2012#5740988870388132450
And being reunited with her tender it seems? Glad she got their safe and look forward to seeing her in steam!

I have found the following information of work that is still left to be finished off to 34053; brakes on the tender need adjusting, slacking hose needs manufacturing and fitting as well as the tender coal spray + the drivers seat also needs making.

34053 Sir Keith Park passed its insurance test today, and ran under its own steam for the first time since 1965 at Bridgnorth. Here are a couple of photos.

I was at the Severn Valley Railway recently for a photo charter using 34053. The weather was miserable but a good time was still had. My photos from the day can be seen here http://paulgildersleve.smugmug.com/PaulGilderslevePhotography/Severn-Valley-Railway-Monday08/25867463_n9gDkn#!i=2142866645&k=cg2zctR

Thanks for the link Paul. Very Happy

Does anyone know if there are any plans for SKP to visit any other preserved lines at some point in the future??

Hi all,
I understand that SKP failed on the 23rd December 2012. Does anyone know what the problem was?
Thanks in advance
Andy

So much for the fun, now it's back to 257 Squadron's overhaul.

Great photos Nick! Very Happy
So what happens now with regards to 257 Squadrons Overhaul and can we expect a fly-past (Much the same) when she comes back into ticket?

The overhaul is progressing well; frames back in the works, new tender being built, boiler in Stockton being worked on, etc. There will be some details on the SLL website in a couple of weeks. As for a "recommissioning" event for 257 Squadron, it would be nice to do something, but let's first complete the work. The trick would be to run an event on the same day as an air display on the south coast. That way you can "borrow" the aircraft which are not too far away. Anyway, that's 2015 if we're lucky.

Hi all,
Is it True from what I hear that 34053 SKP has filed with a blown Middle Cylinder Cover? What is the extent of the damage?

With a lot of replies on another site, can anyone/someone give a statement on the extent of the damage and how long it is expected to take to make the repairs?
