LNWR Coach up for sale

Post by 35005CP on Fri Aug 19, 2011 8:10 am

Just came across a coach up for sale a Royal Family Saloon. Here is the link; http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/pic2/806.html
Does £65,000.00 seem an awful lot for a carriage and one that will need some external work and a repaint to be done?

Am I right that this could never go main line?

As I understand it; an all wooden built coach is not allowed onto the mainline network because of fire risks. Maybe someone can clarify this? I remember seeing an article not so long ago that network rail published??
