Bulleid's in Wartime Black Livery

Post by 35005CP on Wed May 30, 2012 2:20 am

Having just found this on Ebay here; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WRENN-W2239-4-6-2-REPAINTED-WARTIME-BLACK-SOUTHERN-21CI28-MINT-CONDITION-/180891205244?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2a1df4be7c

Obviously Rebuilts were never in Black livery, but I understand that the Unrebuilts were?? Does anyone know which ones or have any pictures and information of them?
For everyones amusement here are the pictures of Eddystone in Black;

Hi Andy
I've had a quick look on Wikipedia and it states that all those built during wartime wore black. I'm away from home right now(sat in my truck in Wales) and so am unable to confirm this but I would think that all the first build and some of the second carried black at some stage.

Andy
21C1 to 7 wore malachite green at first then black. 21C8 to 20 wore black from new.
